Winner Entry 9 - Congratulations Frances!!
NightSkyLanterns.co.uk have sponsored our FIRST ever competition on BeThrifty.ie. NightSkyLanterns have a range of sky lanterns on offer on their site. These can be used at Weddings, Christenings, Birthdays or just for fun.
Each lantern is manufactured to the highest quality from fire retardant paper and bamboo, they are individually wrapped for protection and include a non drip fuel cell and fully illustrated instructions.
The Lantern will produce a stunning glow when launched into the night sky, and will travel a distance of up to 15 miles before gently making its descent.
To enter the competition you must be a BeThrifty member and then simply leave a comment on how you would use yours to be in with a chance of winning a box of 20 Night Sky Lanterns.

I would use my lanterns on September 28 2009 when me and my wife will celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary and will have officially survived the so called 7 year itch!!!

I’d use these to clebrate my parents 40th wedding anniversary in May. We’ll be staying at a hotel with a beach nearby and these would look amazing. I’d like all the children and grandchildren to light one each.

I’d use mine to put wee ads for bethrifty.ie in them, then when the burned out and fell back to earth, people would go and check them out and then see the ad for the website, thus spreading your glorious new site nationwide. And they remind me of good times in Thailand, they love their Sky Lanterns over there. Good luck apparently.

I would light them on the beach in Tramore with an offshore breeze and watch them drift out and light the whole bay for everyone to enjoy

My daughter is getting married on May 22nd in Cavan. She is marrying a Scotty boy.
There will be English grandparents, Irish grandparents and Scottish grandparents present - it would be lovely to let them light the lanterns and set them free. The lanterns floating up into the night would represent the mingling of our families.

Hi, I’d put it out the back for a bbq night. Or else I’d put it out the front beside my motorbike and have everyone admire ;- )

I met my girlfriend 20 years ago this year, and I’m planning to propose this September on the 20th anniversary of our starting school together in 1989, - as this was when we first met and we’ve hardly been apart since.
Best friends growing up, and a happy couple since our teens…
it’s finally time to pop the question.
Given the significance of our 20 years together building up to this special day, I would love to be able to send 20 Night Sky Lanterns into the night to mark the occasion as one she’ll remember forever.
yours wishfully,
- Kieran

I like to celebrate the festival of lights (Diwali) every year by lighting lots and lots of candles all around my home. This year I would love to light up the night sky with these wonderful Night Sky Lanterns and it will become part of our family tradition! How wonderful!

I’d use mine to awe and astound my little godson on his birthday during the summer.I think these lanterns would be beautiful and only way they could be more incredible would be if seen through the eyes of a child.
(or if they were mistaken for UFOs by the neighbours!)
